Dr Alfonso Avila-Merino
Lecturer
I am Lecturer in Innovation Management at the Norwich Business School (NBS) and at UEA London. I gained my PhD in Economics and Management of Technology and Innovation from the University of Sussex at the Science and Technology Policy Research (SPRU). I also completed successfully and with distinction an MPhil in Economics and Management of Technology and a BSc in Management of Finance. Prior to joining the NBS I worked for four years for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) designing and implementing technological projects in the fields of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and Renewable Energy mainly in Africa, Asia and Latin America. I am currently the Course Leader for MSc in Strategic Information Systems.

Dr. Bruce E. Baker is a historian of the United States who specialises, amongst other things, in the history of cotton futures trading up to 1914. He is writing a book about the origins of the Cotton Futures Act of 1914, the first U.S federal government regulation of a commodities market.
